Fast Charge
1.) A charge that will typical charge a nickel based battery in 1 to 3 hours and switch to trickle or maintenance charge when full charge is reached
2.) A charge mode for lead-acid batteries at an elevated voltage that will fully charge the battery faster than the float voltage. See absorption
Float Charge
A charge mode for lead-acid batteries at a voltage that that maintains the battery at a 100% state of charge by replacing standing losses due to self-discharge.
Flooded Battery
A lead-acid battery containing a liquid solution of acid and water. Except for maintenance -free types, distilled water must occasionally be added to replenish the electrolyte. This type is commonly used in large standby power applications, or in automotive, marine, and recreational vehicles. Also referred to as Liquid Electrolyte Battery.
